UbiTLearns
UbiTLearns is an acronym that stands for ‘’Ubiquitous teaching and learning system” in Nigeria Universities. The whole idea of this learning platform is to not to replace the traditional face-to-face learning, but to take it a little step beyond the frontiers of the classroom environment through the ubiquitous computing technologies. Ubiquitous learning is an amalgam of e-learning and m-learning, allowing learning to take place independently of time and place.
The learning approach is characterized by the urgency of learning need, initiative of knowledge acquisition, mobility of learning setting, interactivity of learning process, situating of instructional activity, and integration of instructional content. Ubiquitous computing technology has the potential to transform traditional learning methodologies and improve students' learning, capacity building, and performance.
It is a comprehensive and all-inclusive learning solution designed to combat future COVID-19 pandemic and its associated infections. The u-learning system is the only way to keep Nigeria's educational system functioning without interruption from student discontent, insufficient personnel, poor building amenities, and ASUU strike action. The system is supported by computing technologies, network technologies, sensor technologies, cloud computing, and Internet web-based servers capable to revolutionize the existing educational approaches and remove physical constraints. Furthermore, the development of Google Glass, BigBlueButtonBN, and other live telecasting technologies has increased adaptive learning and teaching processes. We believe this nascent cutting-edge pedagogy, enhanced by technology, will usher in a new paradigm shift in the field of education in Nigeria, resulting in a shift from access to quality.
